From Innovation to GreenGuard: The Evolution of Datian Machine’s Vapor Recovery Technology
Since 2015, Datian Machine has pioneered advancements in vapor recovery systems — a journey that ultimately gave rise to the GreenGuard brand.
Here’s a look at how the technology evolved:
First Generation (2015) — Pure Carbon Adsorption
Activated-carbon canisters capture fuel vapor from the vent stream, lowering tail-gas emission concentration.
Second Generation (2016) — Pure Condensation
Introduced pure condensation technology, operating below -30 °C and returning recovered oil directly to storage — no membrane filtration yet.
2016 — Condensation + Carbon Adsorption
Combined condensation with activated-carbon adsorption for enhanced vapor separation. Laid the groundwork with over 400 units deployed alongside the second generation.
Third Generation (2019) — The Birth of GreenGuard
Official launch of GreenGuard, integrating compressor-based cooling, liquid oil recovery and membrane filtration, enhanced with dual air cooling for higher efficiency. Over 500 units deployed, with the earliest still running strong after 4–5 years at Sinopec.
Fourth Generation (2024 – present) — Iterative Upgrades
Field-driven upgrades expanded GreenGuard from a domestic Stage III retrofit into a globally deployable platform — hybrid cooling, climate-hardened compressors and the current DT-VR26M1 / DT-VR26M2 models.
Upgrade 1 (2024) — Hybrid Cooling
Switched to a hybrid cooling system (-10 °C condensation), boosting oil and gas recovery. Rapidly adopted across China, with units operating reliably for up to 1.5 years.
2024 — GreenGuard Brand Founded, 4HP Condensation + Membrane R&D
Datian launched dedicated R&D on 4HP condensation combined with membrane separation technology, and formally established GreenGuard as a distinct product line.
Upgrade 2 (2025.08) — Built for Demanding Climates
A more durable compressor and stronger condensation (-30 °C, 4 HP), engineered for demanding environments such as the Middle East — marking GreenGuard’s expansion into global markets.
Current Models (2025.11) — DT-VR26M1 / DT-VR26M2
The current GreenGuard models, ready for widespread deployment across new and existing sites, with or without Stage I and Stage II vapor recovery systems.
In-House Separation Membrane (2026.3)
After two years of in-house development and field testing, Datian announced its own oil-gas separation membrane — fully replacing and outperforming MTR membranes.
Upgraded Condensing System (2026.7)
New condensing system with a 316L stainless-steel housing and 304 stainless-steel internal condensing tubing. Larger condensing surface area and longer service life across varied environments, exceeding the 2025 condensing system.
